Musical Theater Programming Class Descriptions

Winter/Spring 2025

Children's Musical Cast Class -Lion King, Kids Edition

Instructors - Alison Kuhr, Carolyn Savage and assistant, Sanibel Kujawa

Ages 5-12 (Academic Grades K-6)

Saturdays, 11:45 - 1:45 pm,

• a two hour class on Saturday mornings that will culminate in a production of a young person's 30 minute musical to be performed at the Franciscan on May 17-18, 2025. 
• Class will focus on triple threat musical theater training in the areas of voice, acting and musical theater dance. 
• Students will be separated into age appropriate groups and cycle through three classes every Saturday and one large group session.
• Casting will take place no later than February 1, 2025.  
• The goal with this program is to provide younger actors/actresses with speaking/singing parts in a musical.
• Please note there is an additional production fee associated with this class of $75 due April 15, 2025.
• There may be an additional costuming fee of $50 per student.  This depends heavily on show choice.  This fee will be due 3/1/25.
• Tuition is based on the total hours volume discount based on the number of hours your child is in class at Toledo Met per week.  The discount tuition tables can be found here.

Musical Theater Dance Lab

Instructor - Chianna Kujawa

Saturdays - 11:15 -12:15 pm

• Students in musical theater dance lab will learn beginning ballet (relevant to musical theater dance); tap and jazz. 
• Athletic attire is acceptable.  (No leos and tights in this class.)
• Tap, jazz and ballet shoes required.
• Long hair should be pulled up.
• Goal of this class is to help musical theater students improve their dance skills in order to improve their auditions and performance skillset.
