Toledo Met is seeking passionate and dedicated dance and drama/musical theater instructors. As part of our professional team, you will have the opportunity to teach dance classes, choreograph routines for performances, and create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes continued dance education and musical theater training.
Compensation
- Pay: $20-40 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Job Type: Part-time
- Weeknight afternoons & Saturdays
Responsibilities
- Teach dance/musical theater and acting classes
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and goals of the Toledo Met
- Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their technique and performance
- Choreograph dance routines for annual performance/demonstration
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to plan and coordinate studio events and performances
- Attend and participate in periodic faculty meetings
- Be available to meet with the Artistic Director periodically for professional feedback and event information
Requirements
- Experience in your chosen genre of dance or theater
- BFA or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Experience working with students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including email communications
- Ability to effectively manage a studio classroom setting
- ABT/PBT certification is a plus but not a requirement
