Toledo Met is seeking passionate and dedicated dance and drama/musical theater instructors. As part of our professional team, you will have the opportunity to teach dance classes, choreograph routines for performances, and create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes continued dance education and musical theater training.

Compensation

• Pay: $20-40 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Job Type: Part-time
• Weeknight afternoons & Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Teach dance/musical theater and acting classes
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and goals of the Toledo Met
• Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their technique and performance
• Choreograph dance routines for annual performance/demonstration
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to plan and coordinate studio events and performances
• Attend and participate in periodic faculty meetings
• Be available to meet with the Artistic Director periodically for professional feedback and event information

Requirements

• Experience in your chosen genre of dance or theater
• BFA or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Experience working with students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including email communications
• Ability to effectively manage a studio classroom setting
• ABT/PBT  certification is a plus but not a requirement
